Kitchener, Ont., Canada and Austin, Texas – February 4, 2025 | The BinSentry Board of Directors is pleased to announce two key appointments to the company’s leadership team: Ben Van Straten, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Kearney Klein, Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Van Straten brings deep experience in strategy, venture capital investment, mergers and acquisitions. As CFO, he leads all aspects of global finance for BinSentry.
Klein leads BinSentry’s global supply chain and oversees core functions in planning, procurement, logistics, product fulfillment and field services. As COO, his expertise in technology and operations delivers superior customer experience and operational excellence within the company.
“We’re proud to welcome Ben aboard while Kearney, who has been with us since 2023, steps into a new role at an exciting and critical moment in BinSentry’s journey,” said Ben Allen, BinSentry’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “We’re growing fast, while many technology companies have struggled over the last couple of years. Both Ben and Kearney have the strategic mindset and broad experience in the global ag industry to help BinSentry transform animal feed supply chains with our advanced sensors and software tools that lower costs and emissions, enhance animal health, improve workplace safety and increase profitability.”
A certified public accountant (CPA) by trade, Van Straten is a University of Oregon graduate and completed advanced studies in innovation at Wharton Executive Education. Prior to joining BinSentry, he led venture capital investing for one of the largest farmer-owned cooperatives in the world.

Klein earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He has held executive positions at Indigo Ag Inc. and Air Products, and also provided consulting services to agriculture sector clients as a Principal at Marakon Consulting.
